New flight route to Italian fashion capital.
The launch of a new flight route from Belfast to the Italian city of Milan has been celebrated with a fashion show.
Low-cost airline Jet2.com organised the show at Belfast International Airport with fashion label Clockwork Orange, to celebrate the new three-weekly flight service to the Italian style capital.
Famous as the haunt of Italian fashion designers, with its own fashion week, Milan is also a popular destination for tourists and it is hoped that it will make the city more accessible for those seeking an Italy holiday.
Carly Brear, general manager of sales and marketing at Jet2.com, said: "Not only is Milan a great city but it offers unrivalled access to the Italian lakes, including Garda and Como."
Managing director of Belfast Airport John Doran added that the route was expected to be highly successful and said that the airport was looking forward to working with the airline to develop more new routes in the future.
Jet2.com is launching a total of 26 new routes for summer 2007, flying to popular European destinations such as Berlin, Prague and Valencia from a range of UK airports.
